So...
I started the PGCE course on the 3rd of September 2012. One day in and a gentle introduction followed by two initial placements. I visited a nursery in the centre of York for 5 days, it was an education. The following week I returned to a school I had been working at as a TA earlier in the year and observed KS2. Some gentle observation tasks were carried out and I thought to myself "well if this is what it's like on the course then it’s going to be a fun year". On the 17th September I returned to campus to begin lectures. As with all courses there are different modules and each module has an introduction session. This was a nice gentle ease in to the course again I was left confident that this year was going to be easy... then the deadlines were announced! How many of them are there? I can’t honestly say! I can tell you now though that the ease I felt towards this course has swiftly disappeared and my mind is filled with questions eager to be answered. At the moment I have no concept of which piece of work to start first, which is most important, what the most important articles are to read or in fact what I’m going to cook for tea tonight! So I start with the small things, a blog to procrastinate over. I’ve never written a blog before, I don’t know the do’s and don’ts of blogging etiquette and so this may take some getting used to, but I’m going to use this space to voice opinions, ask questions and record my thoughts for the next few months. It can’t be harder than sifting through many piles of indecipherable scribble though can it?
Nice blog... should make interesting reading but if I were you I would have put mediterranean chicken in the slow cooker this morning!!
